Austin Meiteen

Dancer

Austin Meiteen is originally from Austin, Texas. He started his dance studies at the age of 13 at the Interlochen Arts Academy, and went on to study further at the Houston Ballet Academy, 3 years later. After graduating and dancing for two years in the United States, he moved to Europe to join Nederlands Dans Theater II where he worked with many renowned choreographers. Since the 2022-2023 season, Austin Meiteen has been part of the company of Opera Ballet Flanders, where he already danced in Tempus Fugit by Johan Inger and in 2023, he can be seen in Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s Satyagraha, Extant by Maurice Jermaine spivey; Sharon Eyals Half Life and Richard Siegals New Ballet mécanique. Today, he likes to think of himself as a movement artist and finds value in the consistent pursuit of joy and curiosity.
