Claudio Cangialosi

The Italian Claudio Cangialosi graduated in 2006 from the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He then joined the Semperoper Ballett in Dresden. In 2009, he won the Critics’ Choice Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer for his work in David Dawson's The World According To Us by David Dawson. In addition to being a dancer, he has also made a name for himself as a choreographer. In 2012 he won the 'SIAE Prize for Outstanding Choreographer' for his own performance With(in). Cangialosi also has a career as a visual artist. Cangialosi has been dancing with the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen company since the 2016-2017 season. Amongst others he has appeared in Approximate Sonata 2016 by William Forsythe, danced the role of Albrecht in Akram Khan’s Giselle and in 2022 he appeared in the world premiering creations Palmos by Andonis Foniadakis and Futur proche by Jan Martens. As a choreographer he created several works within the Choreolab series including in 2023 Adagio [there is no rose without a thorn] and within the program Chamber movement, perspectives on Bach he created Palindrome.
