Matteo Beeckman

Matteo Beeckman was born in Switzerland, lived in Greece for several years and moved to Belgium when he was five. He started his dance training at the age of nine when he studied contemporary dance with Arlekino in Antwerp. He then took six years of lessons at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp, where he graduated in 2022. As of the 2022-2023 season, Beeckman has been engaged with the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen company. Here, he danced in A Bigger Thing, a choreography by Lisi Estaras and in 2023 in Creature by Akram Khan. He also danced One Flat Thing, reproduced by William Forsythe and the creation New Ballet mécanique by Richard Siegal.
