Matthew Johnson

American dancer Matthew Johnson graduated from The Juilliard School in New York in 2023. During his training he danced in works by Jermaine Maurice Spivey/Spencer Theberge, Ohad Naharin and Hofesh Shechter, among others. He performed a self choreographed solo What Will Be, Was. for Unavailable Memory: In Conversation with Cunningham & Cage performed at the Baryshnikov Arts Center. Johnson also made his Broadway debut as Baby John in the Broadway revival of West Side Story choreographed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. The 2023-24 season will be the start of Matthew Johnson’s journey with the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen company.
