Choreolab
For ten seasons in a row, Royal Ballet Flanders has provided room for new choreographic talent. Dancers who enjoy searching out their own creative element are given the opportunity to experiment in the workshops. Dancers, time and space are regularly kept free so that they can develop their own creations.
The choreographers and their work in progress have their first confrontation with an audience in small-scale presentations. For the spectators this is also a unique chance to take a look behind the scenes at the ballet. At the end of the work process there is the annual recital for the general public.
Choreolab makes Antwerp a bustling centre and international meeting place, where young aspiring choreographers can shape their concepts and ideas and get a chance to work with technically brilliant dancers. Narrative, abstract, experimental, anything goes. A rendezvous with the makers of the future that you should not miss.
