In the opera house in Ghent, visitors are often amazed by the rich interior: the magnificent chandelier, the horseshoe shape of the auditorium and the three richly decorated salons (they don't even have those in Versailles!), bear witness to an unprecedented grandeur. In the Antwerp Opera, it's the beautiful ceiling paintings, the special acoustics and the grand side stage that always impress.
During a tour in one of our theatres visitors will gain insights into the artistic and logistical aspects of our dynamic venues. Schedule permitting, we will also allow a peek behind the scenes. But even if that's not possible, it will be a memorable experience to be sure. An ideal (first) introduction. Casual passers-by, tourists, local residents, but also opera lovers or those who are simply curious about what goes on behind those stately walls: All are welcome! In both opera houses, every last Saturday of the month at 11 am and in Opera Antwerp also every last Sunday of the month. Reservation required.
