Recital Christianne Stotijn - Winterreise

Many other great female singers such as Lotte Lehman, Christa Ludwig and Brigitte Fassbaender preceded her, but now the Dutch mezzo-soprano Christianne Stotijn takes us on a journey through one of the most mythical lieder cycles ever: Schubert's Winterreise. Winterreise is perhaps the archetypal story of German Romanticism, with the Wanderer as its central figure, who comes into the world as a stranger and will also leave it as a stranger. Together with her pianist Hans Eijsackers, Stotijn performs a gripping version of this masterpiece that transcends time and place.
