Le Rapport de Brodeck by celebrated author Philippe Claudel dates from 2007, but the novel has lost none of its urgency. Composer Daan Janssens reworked this dark parable about war, xenophobia and memory into the libretto of his third opera. Together with director Fabrice Murgia, renowned for dynamic theatre that floats on live video, Janssens tells a story that cannot be forgotten.
Those who want to learn more about this world creation can immerse themselves in the world of its creators at this brunch. Jan Vandenhouwe, artistic director of Opera Ballet Flanders will talk to Fabrice Murgia and Daan Janssens about their close collaboration to create a new opera. And undoubtedly we will already lift a piece of the musical veil with one of the soloists.
We won't let you absorb everything on an empty stomach so you can expect hot drinks, water and juices at the bar, yoghurt with granola and soup and quiches. We will close the Sunday afternoon with some sweets.
