Two top works from the German Romantic period in one programme. Johannes Brahms wrote his lively Liebeslieder-Walzer, opus 52 with the legendary Schubertiades in mind: informal music evenings around his shining example Franz Schubert. Schubert's enchanting Trout Quintet for piano and strings completes the menu.
