Opera Ballet Vlaanderen and Antwerp Symphony Orchestra join forces for a weekend full of musical highlights. Come and enjoy yourself on Antwerp's Sint-Jansplein with a symphony orchestra on Saturday and an open-air film screening of Salome on Sunday.
Saturday, September 6 – Antwerp Symphony Orchestra - 7:30 PM
Romanian conductor Gabriel Bebeșelea leads the orchestra in fiery music by Arturo Márquez, George Gershwin, and Leonard Bernstein. With this playful program, the orchestra bids farewell to Antwerp before traveling to the George Enescu Festival in Romania’s capital, Bucharest.
Sunday, September 7 – Opera Ballet Vlaanderen - 6:00 PM
Aperitif with Salome on the big screen. A wild ride, an eye-opener, impressive… One thing is certain: Salome leaves no one unmoved. An opera full of controversial characters, dangerous choices, and a dance you won’t soon forget. In short, an opera you’ll want to see again—an ideal way to close out the weekend. Join us for an aperitif with Salome and (re)experience the famous Dance of the Seven Veils on the big screen.
The opera will be screened on a large screen. Admission to this event is free and no reservations are required.
