Singers and orchestra members affiliated with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen treat you each month to a relaxing aperitif concert. Great works from the chamber music repertoire alternate with rarely performed pieces and forgotten gems. After each concert, there is an opportunity to chat with the musicians. One drink is included in the ticket for each concert.
A tribute concert to one of our most prominent Flemish composers. In December 2022, Wim Henderickx passed away far too soon, only months after the successful premiere of his opera De bekeerlinge at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. His Chansons secrètes, based on the erotic poetry of Pierre Louÿs’ Les chansons secrètes de Bilitis, and In Deep Silence III, inspired by Joseph Haydn’s famous Kaiserquartett, take centre stage in the programme. They enter into dialogue with the overwhelming Second String Quartet by Polish composer Karol Szymanowski and with the restrained and fitting Elegy by young Flemish composer Jasper Charlet, a pupil of Henderickx.
