Singers and orchestra members affiliated with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen treat you each month to a relaxing aperitif concert. Great works from the chamber music repertoire alternate with rarely performed pieces and forgotten gems. After each concert, there is an opportunity to chat with the musicians. One drink is included in the ticket for each concert.
Under the spell of jazz and blues, and inspired by an African version of the creation story, Darius Milhaud composed his fascinating ballet music La Création du monde. The wind players of the Symphony Orchestra of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, conducted by maestro Stephan Zilias, bring it to the stage alongside Igor Stravinsky’s Symphonies d’instruments à vent and Fanfares liturgiques by the French composer Henri Tomasi. Prepare for swinging rhythms, monumental sonorities and surprising timbres.
