A festive Open House Day with Antwerp Symphony Orchestra & Opera Ballet Vlaanderen
On Saturday 5 September, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen will celebrate the start of the new cultural season with a festive open day at the Queen Elisabeth Hall and Antwerp Opera. Both venues, on Astridplein and Operaplein, will throw their doors wide open to young and young-at-heart alike. Throughout the day, you can enjoy free activities, open rehearsals, musical yoga sessions, a glimpse behind the scenes, and opportunities to meet musicians, both inside the venues and on the squares.
The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra will round off the day with a free grand symphonic concert on the stage of the Queen Elisabeth Hall.
A sneak preview of the programme:
13:00 – 14:00: open orchestra rehearsal with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra (Queen Elisabeth Hall)
14:30 – 17:00: open rehearsal with the orchestra and the cast of the new production *De materie* (Antwerp Opera)
Between 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm: Dance workshops on dance heritage with Zoë Demoustier (Opera Antwerp)
2.30 pm & 4.30 pm: Yoga session set to soundscapes accompanied by percussionists (Queen Elisabeth Hall)
6.00 pm – 7.00 pm: free concert by the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra (Elisabethzaal)
Throughout the day, there will be free guided tours, workshops for children, and musical surprises both indoors and outdoors
