Kartal Karagedik & Helmut Deutsch - Schubert recital

Baritone Kartal Karagedik, known for his roles in Duc d'Albe, Don Carlos, and most recently Le Nozze di Figaro at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, only recently met pianist Helmut Deutsch for the first time. Calling Deutsch a legend is an understatement: as a regular collaborator with renowned artists such as Hermann Prey, Diana Damrau and Jonas Kaufmann, he is an eminence grise of the Lied repertoire. Their meeting immediately led to a concrete idea for an evening of songs centered around the mythological songs and songs around the figure of the 'Wanderer' by the master of the Lied, Franz Schubert.

The premiere of their exceptional Lieder evening, which they will also bring to Istanbul later on, is reserved exclusively for Kartal's beloved Antwerp audience, at the Opera of Antwerp.
