Young talent experiments with opera repertoire
With Operalab, the International Opera Academy (IOA) and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen are launching a laboratory for expression and innovation, in which a new generation of opera artists prepares to take the stage. Twice a year, the young artists of the IOA are immersed in several iconic scenes from the opera repertoire during project weeks. Together with young directors and conductors, they search for the beating heart of this timeless music and discover what it has to tell us today. They are guided by experts in the field. They present the end results of their immersion in an intimate performance. In the Operalab series, we meet the opera professionals of tomorrow and enjoy some gems from the repertoire.
