Statement regarding Gaza

With deep sorrow and horror, we witness the violence and immense human suffering in Gaza. The scale of this tragedy moves us all, and words fail to describe this horrific situation. Every day, powerful and necessary contributions are published and actions are taken - rightly so.

Opera Ballet Vlaanderen programs carefully, guided by artistic quality and social responsibility. We have a clear policy:

• Opera Ballet Vlaanderen condemns all forms of violence and all violations of human rights, anywhere in the world.

• We are currently not collaborating with the Israeli government, nor with institutions, partners, or representatives directly affiliated with that regime.

• We do not exclude individuals solely based on their origin or nationality.

• We expect artists and partners to uphold the humane values ​​embedded in international law. These values are an integral part of the dialogue we maintain and the way we assess our collaborations. However, OBV does not require anyone to take a public position on political issues. OBV respects and upholds ​​the artistic and personal freedom of the artist.
