Singers and orchestra members affiliated with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen treat you each month to a relaxing aperitif concert. Great works from the chamber music repertoire alternate with rarely performed pieces and forgotten gems. After each concert, there is an opportunity to chat with the musicians. One drink is included in the ticket for each concert.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet in A major, K. 581 is among the most intimate and profound works in the Austrian composer’s oeuvre. Its unparalleled melodic inspiration and the lively interaction between clarinet soloist and strings paved the way for the later Romantic clarinet quintets by Brahms and Reger. Alongside Mozart, we encounter Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, whose “American” String Quartet No. 12, written in the United States, became his most popular chamber work.
