Greek choreographer Christos Papadopoulos, who presented OPUS with the OBV dancers in the 25/26 season, appears at DE SINGEL for the first time. In My Fierce Ignorant Step, he takes ten dancers into a realm where poetry and movement merge. The choreography departs from words and breathing. What begins as a silent physical effort grows into audible breath, into voice, into rhythm. In this way, a pulsating landscape emerges in which movement generates sound and sound in turn generates movement. Papadopoulos explores how a collective body can arise on stage: ten performers who breathe, move, and resonate together. Their shared energy gradually builds into an ecstatic wave of movement that fills the stage with vitality and zest for life. What starts with small gestures grows into a hypnotic choreography in which bodies, breath, and sound form one pulsating whole.
