Welcome to Opera Ballet Vlaanderen

Before the curtain rises, our encounter with the audience already begins. Through personal attention, we aim to make every visitor feel welcome.

From choosing a performance to the final applause: read everything about your visit here.

Choose your performance

Discover our season and choose a performance that suits you. Opera and dance exist in many forms: from classical to contemporary, from grand productions to intimate performances.

Not sure what to choose? Our colleagues at the box office are happy to help you with personal advice.

Book your ticket(s)

You can easily purchase your tickets online or by visiting or calling the box office. You can also arrange your season tickets in the same way. Here you can find more information about rates and discounts. We offer different price categories, so there is an option for every budget. Did you book tickets well in advance but can no longer attend? You can exchange your tickets online for another date of the same production. Are you under 26? Then you can also sign up for the last-minute list.

Before the performance

A few days before we welcome you, you will receive an email with videos, interviews and articles about the performance, as well as a podcast with an introduction that you can listen to whenever you like. You can also find all this information on the website. Two days before the performance, you will receive a service email with practical information about the start and end time, interval drinks, bar opening hours and other useful details.

Coming to the performance

Getting to Opera Antwerp or one of our other venues in Ghent or Concertgebouw Bruges is possible in several ways. Check which options for train travel, parking or car sharing we offer.

The performance

Our front-of-house staff will welcome you as your tickets are scanned. The box office is also open. We are happy to take your coat (umbrella, backpack, etc.) and store it in the free cloakrooms. Do you need help finding your seat or getting to it? Our ushers will be happy to assist you.

A Dutch and English translation are available via the surtitles. The programme booklet, a unique and lasting memento of your visit, is available for purchase in the entrance hall.

At Opera Antwerp, you can enjoy a snack and a drink on different levels.

  • The Foyer (level 2) is open 75 minutes before the performance, during the interval and until one hour after the performance.
  • In the Foyer, we offer drinks and you will also find our Taste Bar. Here you can enjoy a small bite, and we always highlight a suggested drink.
  • Bar Cour (takeaway bar, level 2), Bar Jardin (level 4) and the Blue Bar (level 5) are open during the intervals. Bar Cour is our takeaway bar: if you order your drink in advance, you can collect it here during the interval.

Avoid the queue during the interval and order and pay for your drink(s) in advance at Bar Cour (level 2). You can then collect your order during the interval at the takeaway bar Bar Cour.

We aim to have our performances end no later than 11:00 PM.

After the performance

After the performance, you are welcome to stay and chat in the foyer. Would you like to stay informed about upcoming performances? We will email you an invitation to provide feedback on your visit.
