Do you know what you saw? The central question this season at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen comes from Parsifal, the opera by Richard Wagner with which we will open our 2025/26 season.
Parsifal tells the story of a young man who is confronted with a suffering king but fails to ask him a question. He shows no empathy and is harshly punished for it.
In a time dominated by social media, where people are mostly seeking affirmation, it is more important than ever to reach out to others.
Opera Ballet Vlaanderen wants to ask sincere questions. These are brought to us through the stories we present on stage. Under the motto Do you know what you saw?, the 2025/26 season is an invitation to the audience to seek connection through art and ritual, and to look at reality from different perspectives.
