Even after Opera Gent closes, we will still be there for you. We are temporarily relocating, but our artists, our staff and our warmth will travel with you to other locations in Ghent and the surrounding area.

In the new season, OBV, due to the renovation and restoration of Opera Ghent, will more often be found on other stages in Ghent and Bruges. We invite you to experience our productions in a new setting. We guarantee that you will encounter the same quality and care in our way of working there as well. Warmth, genuine attention, and a personal welcome remain our hallmark, even on location.

Opera Ballet Vlaanderen blijft aanwezig met opera en dansvoorstellingen in het centrum van Gent. Lees hier meer over de bereikbaarheid van deze locaties.

Dans in Capitole Gent

In het voorjaar van 2026 brengen we twee grote dansproducties naar de Capitole: Rites (Bolero X, La Valse, Le Sacre du printemps) en het intrigerende OPUS van Christos Papadopoulos.

SEIZOENSOPENING 26/27 TIJDENS ODEGAND

We trappen ons seizoen af in Gent op zaterdag 12 september met De opstand van de gevels-De karavaan tijdens het weekend van Odegand. Theatermaker Thomas Verstraeten laat in een grootschalige parade twee gevels letterlijk van wijk wisselen. Met een feestelijke optocht van duizenden deelnemers wordt dat een niet te missen evenement.

CAPITOLE GENT

In Capitole Gent presenteert OBV de dansvoorstellingen The Sleeping Beauty en Bartók/Beethoven/Schönberg én De draaischijf, een beklijvende theatermonoloog door Peter Van den Begin naar de roman van Tom Lanoye. Die laatste twee voorstellingen worden live begeleid door ons orkest.

MUZIEKCENTRUM DE BIJLOKE

Muziekcentrum De Bijloke, al jaren een vertrouwde stek, is ook dit seizoen de thuisbasis voor een reeks bijzondere concertmomenten. Op het programma staan twee symfonische concerten, de concertante opera's Orphée et Eurydice en Lohengrin en het Laureatenconcert van de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd.

INTERNATIONAL OPERA ACADEMY

De studio's van de International Opera Academy op de Bijlokesite vormen het intieme decor voor de operaprofessionals van morgen. In een nieuwe reeks van Operalab staan experiment en talentontwikkeling centraal.

MIRY CONCERTZAAL

Na een succesvolle start krijgt de reeks aperitiefconcerten een vervolg in de MIRY Concertzaal, een intieme plek met een uitzonderlijke akoestiek voor kamermuziek. Aan de voet van de Sint-Baafskathedraal ontdek je hier een verborgen parel in het hart van Gent.

DE VOORUIT

Een nieuw seizoen, een nieuwe partner: in het iconische, recent gerestaureerde gebouw van Kunstencentrum VIERNULVIER - De Vooruit - brengen we twee dansproducties: A Wave en Winterreise.

Carmen at Concertgebouw Brugge

We are launching our collaboration with Concertgebouw Brugge with Carmen, Bizet’s beloved opera, directed by Wim Vandekeybus.

Also this season we settle in Concertgebouw Bruges. With Lucifer and De Schelde, FC Bergman brings two oratorios by Peter Benoit to the stage. The performance is conducted by our new music director Stephan Zilias.

Before departure, you will receive all practical information, such as exact times and confirmed pick-up and drop-off locations.
In Antwerp, the bus stops in Osystraat, within walking distance of Opera Antwerp.
In Bruges, the bus stops at the Concertgebouw.
We aim to arrive 75 minutes before the start of the performance.
The bus departs 30 minutes after the performance.
Fare: 20 euros. Discounted fare for Friends and subscribers: 15 euros.
