More than welcome
Even before the curtain rises, our interaction with the audience begins. We aim to welcome every visitor with a personal touch.
CHOOSE A PERFORMANCE
When browsing the programme, you sometimes immediately know what you want to see. Or perhaps you need some personal advice? Our colleagues at the box office listen to your expectations and are happy to guide you in your choice of performances and seats in the auditorium.
Via OBV Magazine, the newsletter and social media we keep the audience informed about the programme. We show how performances are made, conduct interviews with artists and thanks to photos and videos you can take a look inside rehearsals… This way you already learn a lot about a production in advance.
RESERVE YOUR SEAT(S)
You can reserve your seats via the website or by visiting or calling the box office. You can also arrange your subscription this way. Here you will find more about rates and discounts. Did you order your tickets well in advance and you are no longer able to attend? You can exchange your tickets online for another date of the same production.
BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE
A few days before we welcome you, you will receive an email from us with videos, interviews and articles about the performance and a podcast with an introduction that you can listen to whenever you want.
You will also find all this information on the website. You will also receive a service email with practical information about start and end times, interval drinks, opening hours of the bar and other useful information.
COME TO THE PERFORMANCE
Travelling to Opera Antwerp or one of our other venues in Ghent or Concertgebouw Bruges can be done in several ways.
Check to see which advantages on train travel, parking or car sharing we offer.
AN EVENING AT OPERA ANTWERP
Our front-of-house staff welcomes you when your tickets are scanned. The box office is also open. We’ll be happy to take your coat (umbrella, schoolbag, etc.) and store it in the free cloakrooms. Do you need help finding your seat or getting to your seat? Our ushers can assist you.
At Opera Antwerp, you can enjoy a snack and a drink on various levels.
- The Foyer (Level 2) is open 75 minutes before the performance, during the interval and until one hour after the performance.
In the Foyer, we offer drinks and you’ll also find our Smaakbar. Here you can enjoy a light snack, and we always highlight a recommended drink. - Bar Cour (takeaway bar, level 2), Bar Jardin (level 4) and the Blue Bar (level 5) are open during the intervals. Bar Cour is our takeaway bar: if you order your drink in advance, you can collect it here during the interval.
- Avoid the queue during the interval and order and pay for your drink(s) in advance at Bar Cour (Level 2). You can then collect your order during the interval from the takeaway bar, Bar Cour.
Dutch and English translations are available via the surtitles. The programme, a unique and lasting memento of your visit, is on sale in the entrance hall.
We aim to ensure that our performances finish by 11.00 pm at the latest.
AFTER THE PERFORMANCE
Would you like to stay informed about upcoming performances? Then be sure to subscribe to the newsletter via our website.
We will email you an invitation to give feedback on your visit. The responses give us insight into how the audience experienced the performance.
