Discover all the activities of the Friends of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen
In the summer we celebrate the start of the new season with our anual Tea Party. The perfect opportunity to get to know new Friends and to catch up with old ones, for once outside the walls of our beautiful opera houses. This year, we'll raise a toast on 25th August for a wonderous and musical afternoon, at the gorgeous estate of patrons Jan and Nadien De Backer in Schoten.

As a Friend, you have the privilege of attending our performances first and foremost, at the (pre)dress rehearsal (which is the penultimate rehearsal before the premiere). A unique experience.

The opera of Antwerp and Ghent holds no secrets for the Friends of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, but our decor and prop atelier in Zele is a unique place not frequented by the public. We invite you for a tour around the wonderful atelier where the impressive decors of season 2425 are fully in progress.

We're going to London! On our programma is a combination of ballet and opera in the Royal Opera House. Transport and accomodation are not included in the trips. Next to the performances, we will organise a visit to a museum and a dinner.

This season we invite our Friends to the exclusive Gala for Friends. We will enjoy a dinner on stage at Opera Ghent with a private concert.

Traditions are there to adhere to.This year, too, we head to our Brussels colleagues at La Monnaie for their last opera production of 2024, for which we were able to secure tickets at a special Friends' price. With Fanny and Alexander, De Munt is venturing into an ambitious opera reworking of the lauded gem of Swedish cinema; a whole new creation directed by Ivo van Hove and with new music by composer Mikael Karlsson and librettist Royce Vavrek.
